Mother's Day.

Mom... Happy Mother's Day

My mom is... a hard worker
a master of home-made health remedies
a person of reason  an encourager  a joyful soul
a mentor  a boss
an adventurer  a person of true BEAUTY
an interior decorater
a gardener  a master chef  a generous person  one who helps
a fashionable lady  a risk taker  one who creates laughter
an example  a loving wife  an organizer
a leader  a person who thinks of others first
a creative person  an inspiration
a mom to many more people than just your kids
I love you mom.

Goals.

Let's be honest.
I would like to admit something.
Blogging updates are not my thing.
I absolutely love the idea of them.
And I believe it's good to keep people informed.

To the people who actually read my blog out there, thank you.
To those who endure my writings, thank you.

In blogging, and in life, I like to do everything to the best of my ability.

SO - I have made a few personal goals:

1 - Blog Better
   - Quality information about our team, everyday life & our ministry.

2 - Blog MORE
   - To get into the routine, I will blog everyday for the next three weeks.

3  - Better Photos
    - Practice makes perfect, so expect a photo a day

4  - Run a half marathon
    - Self discipline & training from my coach Wayne Collins

Thats it folks.  There you have it.

Today my camera dropped to the sidewalk from off my shoulder. It was aweful. I was having troubles getting it to work properly, as it took a hard blow. A little piece even fell off the corner near the back. At this moment of dispair I relized that this camera is a gift from God, and a priveldge and I haven't used it near enough. Turns out, the camera still works and everything is alright. Sometimes clumsy moments like this help us to not take things for granted.

For my Sister & Brother in law.

With love for Abigail Fluit
Born to Phil and Leanne Fluit
Born and died April 24, 2013

We don't know why life can be too short for some.
Abigail didn't even get a chance to see the world.
But the first time she opened her eyes,
she saw Heaven.

I love you Abigail.
Love, your Aunt Anita

Songkran (Thai New Year)

The average temperature in Thailand since we arrived is a smokin 37 degrees centigrade.

Luckily for us, we arrived just before one of the
biggest water fights I have ever been in.

Songkran is a celebration of the Thai New Year lasting three full days from April 13-15.

People roam the streets throwing water on eachother in belief that the new year would bring good luck and prosperity.
The water is symbolic in "washing the 'bad' away.

We couldn't go outside without getting wet.
So, we went out armed with water guns and buckets and had so much fun!
Sarah and Cass... armed and ready.
Sadly, the countrywide death toll during the celebration was about 285 and almost 2,800 casualties.
One of our favourite spots was at a small pool outside a big hotel... endless water supply!
 Water guns for sale everywhere.
A group of Thai's getting hit with water while riding a tuc tuc.
A tuc tuc getting sprayed while riding down the 'bar' street in the red light district, Chaingmai.
A neighbour boy getting ready to spray Sarah and Cass as they walk by.
Some foreigners getting really into it.  Check out those goggles!

A little compliation of go-pro footage.

Letters from Home..

Sometimes, it's the little things that make you happy.
Today, it was waking up to a letter from home.

Thanks Kristina.

...yesterday the remainder of my flights were booked. Which means I'm coming home!! Obviously I won't see home for a long time, but at least it's coming.
I talked for almost two hours with my mom. We talked about life, leadership, work and home.
I get to be a part of decorating the new balcony at mom and dads house... It will have a nice 'flare' from Thailand... How cool is that!
I also got to talk with my sister Leanne and the kids. They said, "I miss you Auntie Anita".
Yes, I miss you too! They are so cute..

I'm off for my morning run. Stay fit everyone. Stay safe.
